Hello, thank you for the educational video. My question is my replacement fuel pump came with a fuel filter and hoses. My 73’ 18hp Evinrude doesn’t have one. Would add this from the inflow hose before the pump?

All this isn’t necessary all you gotta do is unhook oiler and plug it and plug it off at fuel pump

Hi, great video. Have a question. I have a 94 Johnson 88 spl and my power trim tilt only go up but not down. I have switch the relay and replace the motor but it still have the same problem. My next step are to replace the seal. What do you think my problem is and would replace the seal fix my problem. Thanks for your help.

I just did the water pump kit and still no "pee". But when i run it on muffs water comes out of the mid section where the shift shaft goes into the lower. Is that just a matter of replacing that grommet or did i f something up.

Can't thank you enough. I have a 1992 Evinrude E10RENA and it wouldnt start no matter what i tried or replaced. Had good spark, carb cleaned, nothing. Because of your videos, i tore it all down and put it all back together with all new gaskets etc and it now runs great. Ended up being a bad gasket (water jacket or main seal underneath gasket) was sucking in water into the block when trying to start. Not anymore. Thank you sir.

I have. 90hp with a omc controller and it won’t let me go all the way into neutral or reverse. I can go forward. I have checked the linkage at the motor and that is fine. It’s in the controller. Can someone please help out. Thank you.

Gee, why didn't you do the whole repair. ?? 2 strokes run good, but fuel now days is lousy. The oil in the fuel makes the engine run crappy. (plus does anyone mix the oil/fuel properly) You didn't pull the fuel pump apart as it says on the cover FILTER. The same schmoo in the carbs is in the fuel pump. People with 2 strokes don't know that the fuel goes bad really fast. I have a hard rule... when I see schmoo I immediately dump the fuel, clean the carb, replace filter, and put in FRESH fuel mixture. 99% of the time problem fixed. Thanks for the sermon at the end...now I don't have to go to church Sunday.

The wire goes through the meter clamp, it's not actually supposed to clamp on the wire. The wire gives off an emf or electromagnetic field that the clamp picks up when the wire passes through the clamp when it's closed.

Hi there, I have a 1986 20 hp Johnson, wondering what size fuel line is needed for the primer pump going to the carb? The previous owner replaced the primer pump and did a terrible job fastening it with the tie straps so I have to redo it. What would be the best fuel line to use (it has clear very small diameter), do you happen to know the diameter of fuel line needed? Thanks a lot Great video!

I had to use an axe to get my lower unit away from the motor😂

Seems like a very useful video. I have a question maybe you can answer. My trim stopped working but motor still makes noise and i had just replaced the motor a year ago. I dont see any visible leaks. Should I reseal the whole thing or try a new motor yet again? It acts like it wants to move but wont.

Im about to crack open my 72 50hp Evinrude. I cooked it last season and im hoping i can throw new rings and a head gasket in there and get it running. Is it necessary to remove the flywheel to remove the powerhead?

Hey I have a tough one for ya I have an 89 Evinrude 50hp, and no matter WHAT I've done I can't get it to idle. Fresh carbs rebuilt right, brand new fuel system from tank to carbs, link n sync, full tune up, removed flywheel to check for sheared keyway, got the idle jets tuned as good as they will get the idle as high as possible, and it just Idles too low. If I crank the idle screw all the way up, it will idle in neutral but will instantly die in gear. If I unhook the timer linkage and pull it further while running, it will idle right so something is not right. I also pinched off the primer solenoid line to make sure that wasn't leaking and sending too much gas to carbs. I just don't know where to go from here. Thanks for any insight.
